Reunion On Gallows Hill
Author(s):
Tim Kelly
Six girls decide to spend the night on the slopes of Gallows Hill in Salem, Massachusetts, the site where nineteen condemned "witches" were hanged in the seventeenth century. Nancy is a descendant of the judge who ordered the executions. Things start out as a lark, but when the spirits of the witches rise from the swirling mist, things take a bizarre turn. To wreak their long-delayed revenge, the witches enter the bodies of the unsuspecting girls and possess them. A chilling reenactment of a witch trial then proceeds. Only Nancy understands that something is wrong. She is condemned to hang. But Nancy's defense not only saves her life, but frees the tormented spirits. Finally, we understand why Nancy was summoned to the unholy spot. This is an unusual play with excellent roles, since the actresses must portray two personalities.
